Gene Moore (see The Tiffany Chairs) was delighted to learn that Martin also painted musical images in his signature style, inviting the artist to return to the Manhattan landmark to showcase his work to mark the opening of the New York Philharmonic season in 1994. All but French Hydrangeas now reside in private collections.
